Raspberry Red...

Hey there...

This A/W I have really fallen in love with deep red colours, especially for my nails.
I got this one from Barry M for £2.99 in colour Raspberry.  I love this colour an have worn it so much since I got it.  In these pictures and in darker light it comes up a really nice deep red.  But in brighter lights in has a lovely pink hue to it.  I've had my nails this colour for about a week, which is so unlike me as I like to chop and change a lot.

Hope you like this colour.  What are your favourite nail colours for A/W?

Kissing Kate Moss...

Excuse the mess in the background...

Hey there,

A week or so ago I picked up one of the Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick's.  These had a bit of a hype surrounding them when they first came out but they just didn't interest me for two reasons. Firstly, because quite often celebrity endorsed products are just awful and secondly, having quite dry skin and lips means matte products just do not work on me.

However, I was in Boots and I found myself staring at a huge picture of Kate Moss, lusting after her lip colour.  Which, the small print informed me was 107 of her matte lipstick range and I had to have it there and then.  (Well done on your advertising Rimmel.)

I am so glad I got this, I absolutely love this colour! It is a highly pigmented dark red wine colour with blue undertones (which goes perfectly with pale skin) and has a beautiful matte finish.  I do like to scrub and moisturise my lips prior to using it as matte lipsticks just highlight any dry patches.  However, despite being matte, it does not feel drying on the lips.  I also love the packaging, so cute!

This is the perfect A/W shade and at only £5.49 it is an absolute steal.
Boots are still doing their buy one get the other half price deals at the mo, so I'd go and grab a bargain!

GlossyBox: November 2012 (plus Sep & Oct)

This months GlossyBox follows the theme of stocking fillers. The idea being that all the products would make perfect stocking fillers for friends, family and yourself.

Ayuri Sandlewood Face Cream:  I really like the smell of this product plus we've been gifted with the full size product which is huge so I'm pretty pleased.  This product feels very nice on the skin & has some fantastic ingredients.  And it really does smell good... it has got patchouli in it which I love.  I don't think I'll use it on my face as I have quite sensitive skin (my face doesn't like change) but it is making a lovely hand cream!

Alison Claire Natural Beauty Mango Body Butter: I love body butters & I think I'm going to have to add this to my collection.  It smells amazing (I know it's called mango but it kind of smells like fudge but not in a sickly way), feels really good on the skin & is made with mainly natural and organic products for people with sensitive skin in mind.  I will be getting the full size of this one when my sample runs out.

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant: This is an intriguing product that I actually haven't had the chance to try yet.  It is a face exfoliator that comes in powder form and activates upon contact with water.  I have read some pretty good things about this so I'm looking forward to trying it.  I've had a reaction to a product on my face so I'm refraining from trying anything new until my skins better again.

Burberry Body EDP: I'm always a bit hit and miss with perfume samples, mainly because I'm so fussy.  This one I actually like.  I'm awful at describing perfume so this is the description by Burberry: "The scent opens with top notes of fresh green absinthe, illuminating peach and delicate freesia; at its heart are floral notes of natural rose absolute and iris, gently blended with warm sandalwood. Its base is made up of woody cashmeran, creamy vanilla, amber and musk notes."  Mmmm hmmm, yeah I get all that...  Basically it's a nice A/W fragrance that comes in a really cute little glass bottle.  I'll be popping that one in my handbag.

Nails Inc Kensington Caviar Top Coat:  I haven't yet tried this but I will be painting my nails later and will give it a go then.  I've heard pretty good things about this so I'm glad to give it a go.  I love Seche Vite though and have just ordered a new bottle, so I wonder if it can beat that...

I really liked this months box and can see myself actually using all the products which is a plus.  It's so typical that GlossyBox brings out a box like this just as I'm debating cancelling my subscription.

Did you enjoy this months box? Are there any products you would purchase?

P.S. Just thought I would share what I thought about the September & October boxes. (Though I'm sure you've read a million now!)

Loved the box design so cute so was a bit disappointed to find it was ripped in places.. but ho hum.
Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream: Used to use, liked the reminder, have repurchased.
L'oreal Professional: I really liked the hair cream.  It really helps tame the frizz in my hair.
Rodial Glamoxy Snake Serum & 5 Minute Facial: Loved both especially the snake serum which really does work but way too expensive to repurchase.
Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream:  Smells nice and is pretty much all natural, which I like.

Lady Gaga Fame Fragrance: Not nice, had tried it before the box came and when I saw it my heart sank. My friend likes it though.
L'oreal Professional: I didn't like the mousse but I think this is because I don't know how to use mousse. Answers on a postcard please.

Was a bit disappointed to only get four products this month.  I get the Dermalogica 3 step.. is a big sample, but I was still a bit put out.

Anatomicals Body Scrub:  It has a lovely grapefruit scent and is a really nice scrub.  Currently residing in my shower...
Yves Rocher Moisturising Cream Lipstick: I'm always a sucker for a new lipstick.  It's a classic bright red with a nice formula so you can't go wrong really.

Skinetica Anti-Blemish: This just doesn't work for me. Nice idea though.
Dermalogica 3 step day & night kit: I didn't really like this product. I wasn't keen on the smell and didn't  find it did anything for me.

Wow! That was a post & a half...

Teeny Weeny Haul...

This is the teeniest haul post.  But I picked up a couple of bits today that I thought I would share with you.  At the mo' Boots  is doing a buy one get the other half price deal. Which is super, I have picked up quite a few new bits during this deal.  Today I popped in to get one of the Revlon Just Bitten lip stains and for my half price item I thought I would try something new.  So I picked up Collection Illuminating Touch Concealer.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain & Collection Illuminating Touch Concealer

For Autumn/Winter I have really been enjoying a darker lip.  However, I always feel conspicuous when I wear a lipstick during the day.  I have been absolutely loving Revlon's Just Bitten Lip Balm Stain's and decided for a dark lip that I could wear in the day this was the place to go.  Because they are a lip stain they aren't as heavy as a lipstick which means you get a nice burst of colour which is more daytime appropriate. (For my full review of them go here.)  I picked mine up in colour 005 Crush, which is a dark pinky plum, perfect for A/W.

Sorry for the awful lighting.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain £7.99

I love this colour and can see myself using this alot over the winter as the formula isn't as drying on my lips as lipstick.  Unfortunately, my awful lighting doesn't do it any justice, I suggest you go and swatch it yourself.

Sorry, bad lighting & little piggy nose.

The other product I got was Collection 2000 Illuminating Touch Concealer in colour Naked 1.
I don't use concealer often but feel I have had such a lack of sleep lately that I really need it.  With this in mind I thought I would try a new one today.  I spied with my eye this little beauty.  With the packaging and description very reminiscent of YSL's Touche Eclat I thought I would see how it fared in comparison to it.

Collection 2000 Illuminating Touch Concealer £4.99

Of course it comes nowhere near the brilliance of Touche Eclat but it is a pretty good concealer.  It has a much thicker consistency than Touche Eclat but this gives it a good coverage and it has a lovely finish.  I think this will help cover those nasty under eye circles for the time being.  This plus side is I got this product for a measly £2.50 thanks to Boots' deal, which is always a plus.

Bloody awful lighting.

Have any of you tried these products? Do you like them?

Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness! (with my nails)

Hello there!

This post is a little late than originally intended as it was breast cancer awareness month last month.  But realistically we should always be raising awareness.

As my nails are normally the brightest part of my outfit I thought it was the best place to make people aware of breast cancer awareness.

I love this design and will happily have this again.

Did you do anything for breast cancer awareness month?
