12 Days of Christmas... Day 12.

Merry Christmas!
The final theme for the 12 Days of Christmas nail challenge was of course Santa.  For this challenge I did a simple Santa face on the accent nail and wrote 'Ho, Ho, Ho'on the surrounding nails.  I'm pleased with how this turned out and it is the perfect mani for Christmas day.
I have really enjoyed doing this nail challenge and will definitely keep my eyes out for others in the future.  I've seen some fantastic nail art as a result and have found some lovely new blogs to follow.
I would also like to wish a Merry Christmas to my followers.  Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and for all the lovely comments, it means a lot to me.
Hope you like the nails and I hope you have had a fantastic Christmas!  See you in the New Year!

12 Days of Christmas... Day 11.

Merry Christmas!

So the theme for Christmas Eve was tinsel... The plus side being I'm actually only a couple of hours late with this one.  With this challenge coming to an end shortly I have to say I've really enjoyed it (despite being quite late with most of them).

For this challenge I went with classic Christmas colours of red & gold, which I think look really nice with each other.  I'm quite happy with how this came out and will probably do this again even after Christmas.

I hope you like them... Have a lovely Christmas Day and I'll see you soon for the Santa Nails.

12 Days of Christmas... Day 10.

Merry Christmas Eve!!

So yesterdays theme was Elves.  I love the idea of this theme but I didn't feel confident drawing an actual elf on my nails so thought I would just do their hats.

I'm quite happy with how these turned out.

Have you done any Christmas or Elf theme nails?

12 Days of Christmas... Day 9.

I think it's safe to say it is becoming a tradition for these posts to be late.  With Christmas so close I have been swamped with work and Christmas shopping.  To make matters worse, I got a horrific virus on my laptop the other day.  Luckily, I managed to get rid of it (I hope) but I've had to deal with changing all my security details and what not... such a nuisance!

The theme 2 days ago was wreath.  With my limited supply of nail polishes at the mo, I reached yet again for this lovely red glitter polish.  I love how it looks on the white with the greeny-silver glitter on top.   I also added the cute little bow to finish the wreath off.  I just wish I had a green polish so I could have done it properly.. oh well.  Hopefully, I'll manage to do today's theme tomorrow...

Hope you like it.  Also, Christmas Soon!!!

12 Days of Christmas... Day 8.

So today's theme for the Christmas nail art challenge was ornaments.  So the obvious thing to do was baubles.  I decided to do just half baubles at the end of a plain natural nail.  This is mainly because of my current lack of nail supplies.  Despite this i think they turned out okay.

I hope you like them.

12 Days of Christmas... Day 7.

So I told you I was going to be a day late with this one and true to form I am.
Yesterdays challenge was snowflakes, which I love.  I think they are so Christmassy looking and not too difficult. I used the Barry M Gelly Nail Polish in Blueberry for this challenge as I think it creates a really nice backdrop for the snowflakes.

I hope you like them.

12 Days of Christmas... Day 6.

Typically I am now a couple of days behind the Christmas nail challenge.  Today is actually meant to be snowflakes but I am doing Fridays challenge of gifts today and I'll do snowflakes tomorrow.

I actually have a good excuse as to why I'm so behind... I have come home for the holidays.  So I have been a bit busy packing, travelling, unpacking, hugging, eating... all the usual coming home for Christmas malarkey. The only downside to coming home is I packed in a rush and managed to pack about 5 nail polish colours and only one striper.  So the rest of the challenges will be just that... a challenge.

Back to the nails, I did a simple red glitter nail with white bows to make them looked like wrapped presents. Simple but cute and effective.

Hope you like them.  Sorry to be so late.

12 Days of Christmas... Day 5.

'We're walking in the air...'

This challenge in no way turned out the way I wanted to.  I originally tried to do a 'Home Alone 2 Lost in New York' theme which is my favourite Christmas film but it just kept messing up.

In the end I gave up and went for The Snowman but yet again it messed up. So this is quite straightforward and rubbishy looking.  I'm just not feeling the nail thing today it would seem.

None the less, The Snowman is a super film that everyone knows and loves (and cries at).  So I don't mind this too much.

Hope you like it.

Coco-Nuts about coconut oil!

Hey there...

Today I thought I would share with you a product I LOVE!

Used by numerous celebrities, including Miranda Kerr (anything that helps her look that good I will try) and with a million and one properties Coconut oil is a must have product.

I used to use this product in the past when my mum used to buy it for me but I've recently started using it again after a reaction to a product cause some eczema to flair up on my face, specifically on my eyes.  With it being such a sensitive area I was quite dubious about using anything too harsh to help get rid of it, which is where the coconut oil came in.

I bought my tub, which is huuge, from Holland and Barrett.  It is £14.99 but I got it for half price, which I find H & B do quite a lot, so keep your eyes open.  It also lasts bloody ages as a little goes a long way.  You can also get it in a lot of health food stores, normally for a lot cheaper.  The best type to buy is the food kind rather than the beauty oil with added ingredients.

Not only do I use it as a face moisturiser, which cleared up my eczema but also as a body moisturiser and it does wonders for my dry hair.

I have read it is also a fantastic food supplement, so I tried eating some but I can't say I enjoyed it too much. The tub I bought says to use it instead of butter on toast but I personally find £14.99 a bit steep for butter so I can't bring myself to do it.

I'm not sure how it would fair for those of you with oily skin but it absorbs into the skin so quickly and doesn't feel oily on the skin.  So I would definitely a go!  It is fantastic for winter and may be the reason I haven't turned into just walking dry skin.

Have any of you tried this?  How do you find it?
